Privacy Policy — Argon
Chrome extension · Effective 31 August 2026 · Version 0.1.0
Argon reads nothing and sends nothing. Its only stored data is the per-site level you set, kept in your browser.
What it does#
Argon works by changing what a page is told when it asks — the screen size, the graphics hardware, the fonts, how text is drawn. It answers those questions differently; it does not record what was asked.
The per-site levels are the single exception, and they are settings rather than data about you: a list of sites you dropped to Compatible or turned off, kept in the browser's own storage on this machine.
Data we collect#
None. The categories below are the ones Google's extension policy asks a developer to declare, used here as a checklist for every product rather than only the ones it applies to. Argon collects, transmits and stores none of them.
| Category | Collected? |
|---|---|
| Personally identifiable information (name, address, email, age, ID numbers) | No |
| Health information | No |
| Financial and payment information | No |
| Authentication information (passwords, credentials, tokens, PINs) | No |
| Personal communications (emails, texts, chat messages) | No |
| Location (region, IP address, GPS, place names) | No |
| Web history (pages visited, page titles, URLs, timestamps) | No |
| User activity (clicks, scrolls, keystrokes, mouse position) | No |
| Website content (text, images, videos, hyperlinks, files) | No |
Permissions and why they exist#
- Access to the pages you visit. The substitution has to happen inside the page, before the page's own code asks its questions, so the script runs at document start on every site. It replaces the answers to a fixed set of browser APIs and reads nothing else.
- Storage. The per-site levels, and nothing else. It is the browser's local storage on this machine, not a server.
Argon requests nothing else.
Data sharing and sale#
Because no data is collected, none is shared, sold, rented, transferred or disclosed to anyone — including us. There are no third-party services, SDKs, libraries or analytics providers of any kind. No data is used to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Remote code#
The extension executes no remotely hosted code. All of its code is in the package the Hub loads into the browser, where it can be inspected.
Children#
Argon is not directed at children and, since it collects no data, it collects no data from children.
Changes to this policy#
If a future version of Argon ever handles data differently, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the effective date above will change. Material changes are noted in the changelog.
